Twitter Accuses Meta of Poaching Employees to Build Threads

by TM

Twitter is accusing Meta, the parent company of Facebook, of stealing trade secrets with the launch of its Twitter alternative app, Threads. Twitter claims that Meta hired former Twitter employees who had access to confidential information and used that to develop the Threads app. In a letter sent to Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Twitter demanded that Meta stop using its trade secrets and preserve relevant documents. Twitter also mentioned that Meta is prohibited from scraping its follower and following data. Meta’s communications director denied the allegations, stating that no one on the Threads engineering team is a former Twitter employee.
