The GAAD Pledge – One Year Later · React Native

by TM

It’s been a year since Facebook pledged to make React Native more accessible, and the project has surpassed expectations. The initiative will continue in 2021. After conducting a thorough analysis of accessibility gaps, work began on addressing the issues. So far, 11 issues have been closed by the community, 19 issues have been evaluated and closed by the React Native team, and 9 pull requests have been merged. The project focuses on fixing disabled and selected states in components, adding the ability to query the accessibility timeout setting, and updating the React Native documentation. Facebook thanks all the contributors for their efforts and invites others to join in improving React Native accessibility. Open issues include checked/unchecked state, entrance/exit from collection, and position in collection. Read the full article on the original source for more details.
