Meet Doctor, a new React Native command · React Native

by TM

After receiving contributions from 6 contributors in the React Native Community, the React Native team has launched a new command called react-native doctor. This command is designed to assist developers in troubleshooting and resolving errors with their development environment. Inspired by Expo and Homebrew’s “doctor” command and featuring a UI inspired by Jest, react-native doctor can automatically fix issues with your development environment. If it can’t fix an issue, it will provide a helpful message and a link for manual fixing. The command currently supports various software and libraries that React Native relies on, including CocoaPods, Xcode, Android SDK, Node.js, yarn, and npm. For Android, it supports Android SDK, ANDROID_HOME, and Android NDK, while for iOS, it supports Xcode, CocoaPods, and ios-deploy. The react-native doctor command is available in React Native 0.62, but you can try it without upgrading by using “npx @react-native-community/cli doctor”. A big thank you to the contributors in the React Native Community! [META DATA: {“keywords”:”React Native, react-native doctor, troubleshooting, development environment”}]
