Announcing React Native 0.63 with LogBox · React Native

by TM

React Native 0.63 has been released with LogBox turned on as the default experience. This update aims to improve the debugging process by addressing the community’s feedback on the difficulty of debugging errors and warnings in React Native. LogBox is a redesigned version of the redbox, yellowbox, and logging experience. It focuses on being concise, well-formatted, and actionable. Some of the features included in LogBox are redesigned notifications, code frames, component stacks, and stack frame collapsing. YellowBox is being deprecated in favor of LogBox APIs. Additionally, React Native introduces a new core component called Pressable, which allows for detecting various types of interactions. The API provides direct access to the current state of interaction and supports platform extension. Another feature introduced in this update is the Native Colors API, which allows the use of system-defined colors that respond to system theme settings. Lastly, support for iOS 9 and Node.js 8 has been dropped in order to facilitate faster development.
